Honey has anti-inflammatory properties that prevents the acne to grow. Since baking soda can be a bit drying, honey preserves moisture.
Take baking soda and honey and mix them together. Use this mixture as a scrub and gently scrub your face in circular motion for 5 minutes and rinse off with warm water. This is an amazing natural scrub with great anti-inflammatory uses which keeps skin infections at bay. This can also be used as a body scrub or bath salt to treat body acne. Scrub regularly two to three times a week.
2. Coconut Oil Cleanser
All skin tones, including oily skin can use coconut oil. It is comedogenic and contains essential fatty acids an nutrients for skin. Coconut oil contains lauric acid that kill the bacteria and prevents acne. It also helps to even out skin tone and reduces the size of pores. The oil deeply cleanses the skin and removes all the dirt from it. In face it acts as an amazing makeup remover which can even remove the stubborn waterproof stuff at ease.
Pour some coconut oil and massage it in slow circular motions. When coconut oil is massaged into skin, it dissolves impurities and clogged pores. After a minute or two, wipe away the oil with dirt, makeup and impurities. Hence, this method cleans, moisturizes skin and can also even out skin tone.
3. Apple Cider Vinegar and Green Tea Toner

Take equal amounts of apple cider vinegar and green tea in a bottle or sprayer bottle and use it as a toner two or more times a day. This helps to cleanse, refresh and clean skin. This also helps to improve the skin complexion and elasticity.
4. Oatmeal and Pineapple Mask
Oatmeal absorbs excess oil, soothes skin and fights inflammations. Pineapple has vitamin C, bromelain and antioxidants. Heat mildly oatmeal in water to form a paste. Add freshly grind pineapple, almond oil or powdered almond and a pinch of cinnamon to it. If you have dry skin, skip cinnamon. Mix the ingredients into a thick paste. Apply this mask as a thick paste on the affected area and leave it on for 30 minutes and rinse off. Repeat it twice or thrice a week for a clear and smooth skin.
5. Papaya and Orange Mask
Papaya is a rich moisturizer and has lycopene that helps to protect skin from free radicals that causes acne. It also has anti–fungal, antibacterial, and antiviral properties. Orange is rich in vitamin C, a part of building blocks of skin. It also has powerful antioxidants, that fights free radicals and inflammation of acne.
Mix together mashed papaya and orange essential oil or orange peel powder together. Apply this mixture as a face mask and leave it on for 20 minutes. Wash it off with warm water. Repeat this procedure at least twice a week. This mask also adds an instant brightness to face.
6. Yogurt and Turmeric Mask
Lemon is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants that helps protect and treat skin from blemishes, acne and hyper pigmentation. Yogurt, a natural cleanser, rich in protein and lactic acid helps to balance pH and also prevents growth of bacteria that causes acne. It is well know about turmeric‘s anti-inflammatory, anti-septic and anti-bacterial properties. Large pores, commonly found in oily and mature skin makes bacteria to grow easily. Egg white has astringent properties which shrink pores by tightening the skin.
Take a bowl of yogurt, add two egg whites and two tablespoons of lemon juice or 4-5 drops of lemon essential oil to it. Then add a half spoon of turmeric and mix everything together as a thick paste. Do not go overboard with turmeric it can leave a yellowish tint behind. Apply this thick paste to your face and leave it for 30 minutes. After rinsing, you can see the immediate effects. This mask effectively removes pigmentation and sunburns too. Repeat it at least once a week.
7. Tea Tree Oil and Aloe Vera Night Mask
Tea tree oil has anti-septic, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-bacterial properties that kicks out bacteria that causes acne and heals scars. Aloe vera gel, a healing magical gel contains a lot of antioxidants that prevents free radicals to cause acne.
Add 2-3 drops of tea tree oil to aloe vera gel and use it as a thick mask to apply on face and neck. Leave it over night. This mask not only prevents and treats skin infections, it also immensely moisturizes skin prevents wrinkles and leaves a gorgeous shine the entire day.
